Team Film IT Girl // Amanda Rider
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive”– Howard Thurman
I love that my experience with Team Film has allowed me to meet so many amazing women who push themselves and each other to try new adventures and excel in their current passion! I’ve always loved trying new things but with Team Film, I now have other women who want to do the same. I think getting outside and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is how we make ourselves stronger and live more interesting.
Besides the outdoors and adventure, I have a passion for animals. I spend most of my free time volunteering at a local animal rescue on the west side of Indy called Heaven After Hell Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, facility based rescue. We partner with nearby high kill shelters and try to minimize (and hopefully one day end) euthanasia. I’m a huge advocate for spay and neuter to help control the pet population. I decided to get involved because I wanted to be able to make a difference and do what’s right and needed for another living being. It’s a true, giving compassion. Not all compassion makes you feel good all the time, but you have to be able to reach beyond your own heart and see the bigger picture.
